Spanish tenor José Carreras will celebrate his 80th birthday with a major all‑star concert at The Gabba in Brisbane this December a rare live‑music event at the venue, which is usually reserved for cricket and AFL.
Titled Carreras & Friends, the show will be the first major concert at the ground since Taylor Swift and Charli XCX performed there in 2019, and Adele in 2017. The Gabba is set to be demolished after the 2032 Olympics, making the event one of the last large‑scale music spectacles the stadium will host.
The star‑studded lineup includes Robbie Williams, The Corrs, Ronan Keating, Anne Wilson of Heart, Darren Hayes of Savage Garden, Natalie Imbruglia, Sheppard, and opera stars Katherine Jenkins and Mark Vincent. Several of the artists have toured Australia recently, The Corrs earlier in 2025, and Robbie Williams will perform at Lang Park just two weeks before the Gabba show.
Organisers say the concert will blend collaborations and solo performances, all backed by more than 90 musicians from the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, culminating in a massive “all‑star finale.”
