Kylie Minogue lit up the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) with a spectacular AFL Grand Final pre-game performance, entertaining more than 100,000 fans in attendance and millions watching from home despite wet conditions.
The Melbourne-born pop icon delivered a high-energy 20-minute set packed with career-spanning hits, multiple costume changes, special guest appearances, and dramatic staging that included her being elevated above the crowd.
Promising fans “a Melbourne girl performing in her hometown,” Minogue delivered a nostalgic and celebratory show that showcased more than three decades of music.
The performance opened with a video montage narrated by Minogue herself, blending childhood images with AFL highlights and setting the tone for what many described as a homecoming performance. Referencing one of her classic hits, she told the crowd, “A homecoming like this? I should be so lucky.”
