Helen Mirren Breaks Silence on Tom Hardy Rift Reports And Her Answer Leaves No Doubt

2 min read

Helen Mirren has made her stance unmistakably clear amid swirling reports that Tom Hardy was fired from their series MobLand after allegedly clashing with producers and keeping co‑stars including Mirren and Pierce Brosnan waiting on set.

Asked whether she would work with Hardy again, Mirren didn’t hesitate. “Absolutely. In a f‑cking heartbeat,” she told Variety, shutting down any suggestion that tensions on set had soured her view of the actor.

Mirren went on to praise Hardy’s talent and unconventional creative process, saying she has learned to respect the different ways actors reach their performances. “I love Tom, I think he’s the most amazing actor,” she said. “Different actors have different processes. I’ve learnt over the years that some people get to things faster. As long as what’s on the screen is fantastic, I’m totally chilled with however someone gets there.”

Addressing the broader production drama, Mirren acknowledged that creative environments can be combustible especially when strong personalities collide.
“When you have powerful artistic people working together, the creative process is challenging,” she said. “People will get their knickers in a twist as we say. We will go forward, absolutely, and it will be even better.”

Her comments land as the clearest signal yet that, despite the headlines, Mirren harbours no ill will and would gladly reunite with Hardy if the opportunity arises.
