One Nation Fundraiser Moved After Protest Groups Mobilise in Melbourne

A One Nation fundraiser scheduled for Friday night in Melbourne has been shifted to an undisclosed location after multiple protest groups vowed to rally outside the original venue.

The event, which was set to feature party leader Pauline Hanson and MP Barnaby Joyce, was initially booked at Giorgio Casa, an Italian restaurant in Moonee Ponds in Melbourne’s inner north. The party confirmed the last‑minute relocation, saying the decision followed advice from Victoria Police and the Australian Federal Police.

Several anti‑racism groups had circulated calls online urging supporters to gather nearby before marching to the restaurant. Anticipating significant disruption, the Moonee Valley City Council issued a public notice earlier in the day, advising residents to avoid the area if possible during the demonstration.

The new venue has not been disclosed, with organisers citing safety concerns and the need to prevent confrontation between attendees and protesters.
