Bangladesh’s national shooting team left Dhaka on Friday afternoon to compete in the prestigious ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun, which will be held in Doha, Qatar, from November 1 to 14.

The 11-member contingent includes nine shooters, a team manager, and a coach who will represent Bangladesh against some of the world’s best marksmen and markswomen at one of the sport’s most significant international competitions.

The Bangladesh Shooting Sport Federation (BSSF) has selected Robiul Islam, Rabbi Hasan Munna, Abdullah Hel Baki, Arnab Sharar, Shovon Chowdhury, Kamrun Nahar Koly, Md Ridoy Ahmed, Safa Bin Sahid, and Tasmayati Emma to compete in the championship.

Mohammad Rezaur Rahman will serve as the team manager, while Md Saiful Alam Chowdhury will accompany the squad as head coach.

The ISSF World Championship is regarded as one of the most prestigious events in international shooting, featuring competitions across three major disciplines: rifle, pistol, and shotgun. Athletes will compete in both individual and team categories as they battle for world championship medals.

The tournament will bring together elite shooters from around the globe, including Olympic medalists, world champions, and top-ranked athletes, at the renowned Lusail Shooting Complex in Doha.

Bangladesh officials hope the championship will provide valuable international exposure for the country’s shooters while helping them gain experience competing against the world’s best competitors. The event is also expected to serve as an important platform for assessing performance ahead of future international tournaments and qualification events.

With a blend of experienced campaigners and promising talent in the squad, Bangladesh will be aiming to make a strong impression on the global stage as the competition gets underway in Qatar.
