Zelensky Says US Arms Flow to Ukraine Remains Steady as Kyiv’s Long‑Range Strikes Hit Deep Inside Russia

2 min read

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Thursday that US weapons deliveries have continued uninterrupted despite the war in Iran, allowing Ukraine to maintain long‑range strikes that he claims have inflicted tens of billions of dollars in damage on Russian oil and industrial facilities.

In voice messages to reporters, Zelensky said Ukraine would keep targeting sites “painful for Russia,” adding that Moscow’s losses were mounting. His comments could not be independently verified, but Russian regional officials have acknowledged strikes on infrastructure more than 1,000 kilometres inside Russian territory.

As Russia pushes ahead with its full‑scale invasion, now in its third year, Ukraine has increasingly relied on domestically developed drones and missiles to strike across the border. Kyiv also continues to use US‑made Patriot air defence systems to intercept Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian cities and energy sites.

“We see that the Russians do not want to stop they are hitting our energy sector and our people. We will respond,” Zelensky said.

Ukraine’s resilience drew renewed praise from Prince Harry, who arrived in Kyiv on Thursday for his third visit in a year. Speaking at a security conference, he said Ukrainians had shown “strength not just in bravery and capability, but in unity, in trust,” urging the country to “hold together” as the war grinds on.

The Duke of Sussex travelled to Kyiv by overnight train from Poland, the only route into the capital since the closure of Ukrainian airspace. It was not immediately clear whether he would meet Zelensky, who was scheduled to attend a European Union summit in Cyprus later in the day.
