What started as a step outside her comfort zone turned into a memorable victory for Francisca Henriquez, who has been crowned Miss Cable Beach 2026 in Broome, Western Australia.
The 31-year-old said she never imagined herself walking down a catwalk in front of a packed crowd. Describing herself as naturally shy, Henriquez admitted that taking to the stage at the iconic event brought out a different side of her personality.
Surrounded by friends, family, and supporters cheering her on, Henriquez said the encouragement from the crowd gave her confidence and helped her embrace the experience. The enthusiastic atmosphere played a major role in making the evening one she will never forget.

According to Divers Tavern events coordinator Saoirse Meally, modern versions of the competition place greater emphasis on personality, confidence, and individuality. Participants now have more opportunities to showcase who they are through interview segments, additional questions, and a resort wear category.
