Tragedy Strikes Clarkson: Man Dead, Woman Injured in Suspected Family Violence Incident

A tragic incident in Clarkson, Perth’s outer north, has left one man dead and a woman seriously injured in what police suspect to be a case of family violence. Emergency services responded to a distress call at a residence on Elsbury Approach just before 6:30 AM on Tuesday.

At the scene, a 72-year-old man was found with critical injuries and pronounced dead, while a 52-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital by St John Ambulance. Authorities have arrested a man in his 30s, who is currently assisting homicide detectives in their investigation.

Police confirmed that the individuals involved were known to each other and believe the incident stems from family-related issues. Local resident Nigel Smith expressed his shock over the event, noting the community’s reputation for being quiet and family-friendly. “It’s a good community… very disturbing to hear such news,” he said.

Detectives are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant information, including CCTV or dashcam footage from the area between 5:30 AM and 6:30 AM, to contact Crime Stoppers. The investigation continues as the community grapples with the impact of this tragic event.
