A Vibrant Rally of Victory: Jamaat-e-Islami Celebrates Freedom

On the momentous occasion of Victory Day, the skies of Uttara, Dhaka, were alive with fervor as a massive gathering of supporters from Jamaat-e-Islami took to the streets. The rally commenced at 10:30 AM on December 16, starting from the front of Jamjam Tower and weaving through the bustling roads to converge at the Amir Complex.

The air was electric with slogans echoing the spirit of resistance and unity. Participants chanted powerful phrases such as, “Jamaat-Shibir is the people, unite for strength,” and “Wherever obstacles arise, resistance will follow.” Calls for democracy rang out with fervor: “Down with fascism, let democracy prevail,” and “Stop Indian aggression, stand firm!”

At the pre-rally assembly, Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim, a member of the Central Executive Council of Jamaat-e-Islami, delivered a stirring address. He condemned the ruling party for exploiting the ideals of independence to establish a repressive regime. “Countless innocent lives have been unjustly punished,” he stated, emphasizing that the spirit of freedom, born from the sacrifices of students and citizens, must be defended at all costs.

The rally featured prominent figures, including Mohammad Selim Uddin, the Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami’s Dhaka Metropolitan North, who addressed the crowd with passion and resolve.

After 15 long years of restrictions, the jubilant supporters expressed their elation at finally being able to hold a rally without hindrance. They voiced their relief and joy, declaring that for too long, the ruling party had stifled their democratic rights. “This victory rally reflects our resilience,” they proclaimed.

As the vibrant procession unfolded, it signified not just a celebration of past triumphs but a reaffirmation of hope and determination for the future. The spirit of independence, once again, flickered brightly in the hearts of those gathered, ready to forge ahead in the quest for justice and democracy.
