UK, Australia and Canada Launch Joint Peace Fund, £3 Million Initiative to Support Grassroots Efforts Toward Two‑State Solution

Britain, Australia and Canada have jointly launched a new peace fund aimed at supporting grassroots initiatives that contribute to broader international efforts toward a two‑state solution in the Israeli‑Palestinian conflict.

Each country has committed £1 million ($1.34 million) to establish the fund, which is designed to strengthen community‑level programs and expand international engagement in peace‑building.

According to details released by the British government, the fund will prioritise new and existing grassroots projects, with a particular focus on youth groups, civil society organisations and women‑led initiatives. Officials say the goal is to support local actors who play a critical role in fostering dialogue, resilience and long‑term stability.

The £3 million initiative is expected to scale up once operational, with organisers aiming to attract additional international donors to expand its reach.

The announcement comes ahead of a meeting in Britain between UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper and her Australian and Canadian counterparts, Penny Wong and Anita Anand, where the fund is expected to be a key topic of discussion.
