Miley Cyrus Donates $1 Million to Housing Project for Women Experiencing Homelessness

Singer and philanthropist Miley Cyrus has donated $1 million to support a new housing initiative in **Los Angeles aimed at helping women experiencing homelessness secure safe and permanent accommodation.

The contribution, made through the Miley Cyrus Foundation, will help fund Rosa’s Place, a housing development being constructed by the Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) in the city’s Skid Row neighborhood.

The project is designed to assist women facing homelessness, including survivors of violence, by providing stable housing and access to essential support services as they rebuild their lives.

Housing for 97 Women

According to organisers, Rosa’s Place will offer 97 permanent apartments for women who have experienced homelessness or are transitioning from situations involving violence and instability.

The development forms part of the Downtown Women’s Center’s broader efforts to expand safe, long-term housing options for vulnerable women across Los Angeles.

Cyrus’s donation was announced on October 10, 2026, during the organisation’s Every Woman Housed Gala, where the singer and her mother, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, were recognised for their philanthropic contributions and support for community initiatives.

The event highlighted the urgent need for sustainable housing solutions that provide not only shelter but also pathways to stability, independence, and recovery.

Supporting Long-Term Change

Advocates say access to permanent housing is one of the most effective ways to help individuals break the cycle of homelessness. By combining housing with support services, Rosa’s Place aims to give residents the resources needed to rebuild their futures.

The project is expected to provide a safe environment where women can access assistance, support programs, and opportunities to improve their quality of life.

Cyrus has long been involved in charitable causes focused on vulnerable communities, and her latest donation reinforces ongoing efforts to address homelessness and support women facing hardship.

The contribution is expected to play a significant role in helping bring Rosa’s Place closer to completion and expanding housing opportunities for women in need across Los Angeles.
