After months of debate and scrutiny, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has approved Rockhampton’s Fitzroy River as the venue for rowing and canoe sprint events at the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Queensland Premier David Crisafulli welcomed the decision, saying the approval confirmed the river’s suitability for hosting international competition and addressed concerns previously raised about the venue.
