Christina Applegate Hospitalised in Los Angeles Amid Ongoing Battle With Multiple Sclerosis

2 min read

Hollywood actress Christina Applegate has been hospitalised in Los Angeles, according to reports, as she continues to navigate the long‑term challenges of multiple sclerosis (MS). TMZ revealed that the Emmy‑winning star was admitted in late March, though the exact reason for her hospitalisation has not been disclosed. It also remains unclear whether the episode is directly related to her MS diagnosis.

Applegate first revealed her condition in 2021 and has since spoken openly about the physical and emotional toll of living with MS. Her representative declined to comment on her current medical status, saying only: “She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast.”

In her recently released memoir, You With the Sad Eyes, Applegate describes the daily realities of the disease, writing about moments when she wakes up unable to move her arm far enough to reach a glass of water or her phone. She has also shared that she is prone to severe infections, which have led to her being hospitalised more than 30 times, with symptoms ranging from vomiting and diarrhoea to intense pain.

The actress has become a powerful voice for MS awareness, using her platform to shed light on the often invisible struggles faced by those living with chronic illness. Fans and colleagues have expressed widespread concern and support as she continues her health journey.
