BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman has said his party has prepared several plans aimed at improving the lives of Bangladeshis and intends to implement them if voted into government. Speaking at a BNP election rally in Suagazi Fultali field in Cumilla Sadar Dakshin late on Sunday night, he said he had been repeatedly highlighting these plans over the past two days because the party wants to deliver on them if it forms the next government.
BNP Presents Itself as an Experienced Governing Party
Tarique Rahman described the BNP as an “experienced political party” that knows how to design and implement national plans. He contrasted this with unnamed political rivals, accusing some parties of trying to “deceive the people,” and questioned what benefit such deception could bring. He added that politicians ultimately remain accountable to the public.
Family Card Assistance Scheme Highlighted
Rahman reiterated a key BNP proposal:
- Every household would receive a Family Card
- Women in those households would receive monthly assistance
- The support would not cover all monthly expenses, he clarified
- Instead, the government would ensure at least seven days’ worth of essential support for low‑income rural families
He stressed that BNP had never promised to deliver everything at once, saying the program would be implemented gradually, in line with government financial capacity.
BNP’s Past Governance Cited
Rahman reminded supporters that the BNP had governed Bangladesh multiple times “by the grace of Allah,” and argued that this experience positions the party to deliver on its commitments.
