Australian actress Teagan Croft has been chosen to star as Rapunzel in Disney’s upcoming live‑action remake of Tangled. She will appear opposite American actor Milo Manheim, who will take on the role of Flynn Rider. The beloved story follows a long‑haired princess locked away in a tower whose life changes when she crosses paths with a charming outlaw on the run.

Who Is Teagan Croft?
Croft, 21, was born in Sydney in 2004. She is widely recognised for her role as Rachel Roth (Raven) in the superhero series Titans, which ran from 2018 to 2023.

She also gained international attention for portraying Jessica Watson in the feature film True Spirit, where she played the teenage sailor who became the youngest person to circumnavigate the globe solo, non‑stop and unassisted.
Croft has said she admired Watson’s achievement because it wasn’t defined by gender she was simply the youngest solo sailor in history.

Croft has expressed interest in taking on more biographical roles in the future and has even joked that she does a “cracker impression” of Dolly Parton.

Her earlier work includes:

A recurring role as Bella Loneragan in Home and Away

A part in the sci‑fi film The Osiris Child

A critically praised performance as Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird at age nine

What We Know About the New Tangled Adaptation
The original 2010 animated Tangled was a global box‑office success, earning more than $880 million worldwide. It later inspired a short film and an animated series.

The live‑action remake will be directed by Michael Gracey (The Greatest Showman, Better Man), with a screenplay by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson.
Kristin Burr, known for several major studio productions, will serve as producer.
