Russia Launches Massive Drone and Missile Strikes Across Ukraine

1 min read

Russia carried out large scale drone and missile attacks across Ukraine early Tuesday, striking Kyiv and several other regions. At least three people were killed in the coordinated assault, which came just one day after a car bomb in Moscow killed a Russian general.

Russia’s defense ministry said it used Kinzhal hypersonic missiles to target Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. It also claimed to have captured areas in Andriivka in Dnipropetrovsk and Prylipka in Kharkiv.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sevvoarydenko reported that Russia launched around 600 drones and dozens of missiles during the early morning barrage. She said energy facilities in the eastern regions suffered the most severe damage.

The strikes triggered widespread power outages across multiple regions, worsening the hardship faced by civilians as winter conditions intensify.
