In a display of sheer power and precision, Mohammad Haris ignited the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore with a breathtaking knock that led Pakistan to a commanding seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the third and final T20 International. His heroics not only secured the match but also completed a clean sweep of the series, 3-0.
Chasing a challenging target of 197, Haris took center stage with an audacious innings, smashing an unbeaten 107 off just 46 balls. His fearless batting included eight fours and seven sixes, propelling Pakistan home with 16 balls to spare and igniting the home crowd.
The hosts faced an early setback when Sahibzada Farhan was dismissed in the first over by Mehidy Hasan Miraz. However, Haris, in partnership with Saim Ayub, quickly turned the game around. The duo combined for a rapid 92-run stand; Saim scored 45 off 29 balls before falling in the 10th over, and Hasan Nawaz added a brisk 26, giving Pakistan a solid platform.
Captain Salman Agha, unbeaten on 15, joined forces with Haris in a confident 60-run unbroken partnership, sealing the win in style at 197 for 3 in just 17.2 overs.
Bangladesh’s bowlers struggled to contain the flat pitch, with Mehidy Hasan Miraz the only one who managed to find some control, claiming 2 for 26. The rest of the attack was under relentless pressure, leaking boundaries throughout the chase.
Earlier, Bangladesh set a formidable total of 196 for 6 after being asked to bat. Opening pair Parvez Hossain Emon and Tanzid Hasan laid a solid foundation with a blistering 110-run partnership. Emon was the standout, smashing 66 off 34 balls with seven fours and four sixes, while Tanzid contributed 42 from 32 deliveries.
Despite losing both openers in quick succession, Bangladesh’s middle order kept the scoreboard ticking, but the total proved insufficient against Pakistan’s formidable batting display.
