United Kingdom Awami League called for a peace rally at the Shaheed Minar premises of Altab Ali Park in East London on Thursday (August 15) on Bangabandhu’s death anniversary. The Bengali neighborhood of East London became restless as the opponent interfered with it.

On this day, under the leadership of United Kingdom Awami League president Sultan Sharif and the direction of Secretary Syed Sajidur Rahman Farooq, a peace rally was called to celebrate Bangabandhu’s martyrdom anniversary. During the rally, the leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations kept entering from the other side of the park with slogans.

When the situation heated, additional police were deployed in and around Shaheed Minar from 4 pm to 6 pm.

Even in the presence of police, the BNP leaders and activists continued to throw eggs at the Awami League leaders and activists. This led to tension between the two sides. Law and order forces called on both sides to remain calm and peacefully co-exist.

At 5:45 in the afternoon, Awami League and other organization leaders and activists were seen leaving Shaheed Minar with a huge procession from Shaheed Minar towards Bricklane.
