Suborna Mustafa turns sixty

Actor Suborna Mustafa, winner of the National Award and recipient of the Ekushay Padak, has long dazzled audiences with her exceptional performances. In everything from teledramas to films, the well-known artist has demonstrated her amazing acting abilities. This distinguished actor turns sixty today.

On December 2, 1960, Suborna Mustafa was born in the Jhalokati District. Golam Mustafa, her father, was a well-known actor in the nation’s motion pictures and television shows.

Suborna began her professional life at a very young age. Her acting career began with the television drama “Baraf Gala Nadi,” which was adapted from a Zahir Raihan novel. She also acted in Bangladesh Television’s very first package drama series, “Shilpi.” Mamunur Rashid directed the serial.

The actor made her stage acting debut through ‘Jaundice O Bibidho Balloon’ by Al Mansur.  Her first movie was ‘Ghuddi’ and was then seen in many commercial films.
 Suborna Mustafa is notable for her roles in television drama serials including ‘Kothao Keu Nei’ (1990), ‘Aaj Robibar’ (1999), and ‘Ayomoy’ (1991).She won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress twice for her performance in the films ‘Notun Bou’ (1983) and ‘Gohin Baluchor’ (2017).  She was also awarded Ekushey Padak in 2019.
