A major Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian Black Sea port of Tuapse has killed two children and triggered a large fire, according to Russian officials and state media reports. The strike hit one of Russia’s most important southern ports, a key hub for exporting oil products and handling bulk cargo such as coal and fertilizer.
Tuapse is also home to a major Rosneft‑owned oil refinery, making it a strategically sensitive target. Veniamin Kondratiev, governor of the Krasnodar region, said a 5‑year‑old and a 14‑year‑old were killed in what he described as a “massive” drone attack.
Unverified images circulating on Russian Telegram channels showed the night sky glowing red as flames spread across the port area. Ukraine has not issued any immediate comment on the strike.
Sergei Boiko, head of the Tuapse municipality, said fragments from drones fell on port facilities, though he provided no further details. Russia’s defence ministry claimed that 207 Ukrainian drones were intercepted overnight across several regions.
The attack adds to a growing pattern of long‑range Ukrainian strikes targeting Russian energy infrastructure, underscoring Kyiv’s expanding drone capabilities and the widening reach of the conflict.
