A fire that broke out at a furniture warehouse in Dhaka’s Satarkul area under Badda Police Station on Sunday morning was swiftly brought under control by firefighters, preventing the blaze from causing further damage.
According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, the incident was reported at 8:55am on Sunday. Following the alert, firefighters immediately responded to the scene, with units from Baridhara Fire Station arriving at 9:19am to begin firefighting operations.
The blaze was successfully brought under control at 9:58am, less than an hour after emergency crews reached the location. Fire officials said two firefighting units from Baridhara Fire Station were deployed to tackle the fire at the furniture warehouse.
She added that two additional units from Purbachal Fire Station had initially been dispatched to assist in the operation. However, after authorities determined that the situation was under control and no further support was required, the units returned while on their way to the scene.
No casualties or injuries were immediately reported, and the cause of the fire was not immediately known. Authorities are expected to investigate the origin of the blaze and assess any resulting damage to the warehouse.
The rapid response by firefighters helped contain the fire before it could spread to nearby properties in the densely populated area.
