The fourth season of Ted Lasso is ushering in a major shift and with it, a wave of departures that will reshape the beloved comedy’s familiar lineup. While Jason Sudeikis returns as the endlessly optimistic Ted Lasso, the show’s new premise, centred on Lasso coaching a women’s team, means several long-time favourites will not appear in the upcoming episodes.
Around seven series regulars are stepping away from the show. Among the most notable is Phil Dunster, whose portrayal of Jamie Tartt transformed him from a self‑absorbed striker into one of AFC Richmond’s most compelling leaders. Toheeb Jimoh, who played fan‑favourite Sam Obisanya, has also exited after three seasons of character growth and heartfelt storylines.
Other departures include Cristo Fernández (Dani Rojas), Kola Bokinni (Isaac McAdoo), James Lance (Trent Crimm), Sarah Niles (Dr Sharon Fieldstone), and Nick Mohammed (Nate Shelley). Their absence marks a significant turning point for the series, which has built its global following on the chemistry and evolution of its ensemble cast.
