South Korea’s Foreign Minister Cho Hyun is set to travel to Washington this week for discussions with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, with economic cooperation, regional security, and broader bilateral relations expected to feature prominently on the agenda.

According to South Korea’s foreign ministry, Cho will depart on Thursday for a visit running through Saturday. The trip will include meetings with senior US officials as Seoul and Washington continue discussions on a range of strategic and economic issues.

One of the key topics expected to be discussed is a previously announced investment framework under which South Korea committed to investing $350 billion in the United States. While the agreement helped ease trade tensions and avoid the most severe tariff measures, officials are still working through details regarding specific projects and final implementation arrangements.
