Percy Jackson Star Walker Scobell Skips Prom After Fans Send Death Threats to Girls Linked to Him

2 min read

Actor Walker Scobell, best known for playing Percy Jackson in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, says he has been forced to pull out of his school prom after obsessive fans targeted girls in his social circle with death threats.

In an Instagram Story shared with his millions of followers, the 17‑year‑old condemned the behaviour and urged fans to stop harassing teenagers who happen to live near him.

“Just to let everyone know, I will not be attending prom,” he wrote.
He continued:
“Please stop sending death threats to EVERY teenage girl who could remotely be associated with me based on their proximity to where I live.
It’s not fair to them or their families. Maybe just stop sending death threats in general.
That’s just not cool. Kinda weird I have to say this.”

Scobell rose to fame at just 13 when he was cast as the lead in the Disney+ adaptation of Rick Riordan’s beloved book series. The show premiered in 2023, and the young actor has previously spoken about the challenges of returning to school after becoming a breakout star.

His message highlights the darker side of sudden fame and the real‑world impact of online fan behaviour on the lives of teenagers around him.
