Government Expands ‘Fuel Pass’ Pilot to 18 Filling Stations Across Dhaka

The government has expanded the pilot rollout of the ‘Fuel Pass’ system to more filling stations across Dhaka, aiming to modernise fuel distribution and reduce hassles for motorcyclists. The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources announced the development on Saturday through its verified Facebook page.

Under the expanded pilot, 18 filling stations across Dhaka district are now authorised to accept the Fuel Pass from today. Officials say the initiative will gradually be extended to other districts nationwide as part of a broader effort to improve transparency and efficiency in the fuel supply chain.

The newly added filling stations include: Karim & Sons (Shyamoli); Eastern Enterprise (Mirpur‑1); Gazipur Traders (Uttara); Messrs Sattar & Company (Tejgaon Industrial Area); Messrs Rahman Filling Station (Mirpur‑10); Messrs Karim & Brothers (Tejgaon); Messrs Rashid Filling Station (Mohakhali); BRB Filling Station (Tejgaon); Seba Filling Station (Badda); Hamid Filling Station (Mirpur); and Sumaiya Filling Station (Kazipara, Mirpur).

This expansion follows the initial phase launched on 13 April, when the Fuel Pass was made mandatory for motorcyclists at seven stations in Dhaka: Trust Filling Station (Tejgaon); Sonar Bangla and Talukdar Filling Stations (Asad Gate); Gulshan Service Station (Mohakhali); Meghna Model Pump (Shahbagh); Nikunja Model Service Centre; and Khalek Service Station (Kalyanpur).

Authorities say the system is designed to streamline fuel purchases, reduce long queues, and prevent irregularities with the long‑term goal of implementing the Fuel Pass nationwide.
