Speaking about the situation, Issam Kazim said authorities have been coordinating with stakeholders at both federal and local levels to ensure that transport links remain strong and that travelers can continue to access the emirate. Efforts are focused on increasing airline capacity and reopening travel routes as rapidly as conditions allow.
“We are trying to make sure that we get in as many carriers and opening clients as much as possible and as quickly as possible,” Kazim said, highlighting the city’s commitment to sustaining its position as a leading global tourism and business destination.
Kazim acknowledged that current circumstances have affected visitor flows, particularly through disruptions to flights and the impact of travel advisories. He noted that such factors play a significant role in influencing tourism demand and overall traffic into the emirate.
Despite the challenges, Dubai continues to invest in long-term growth plans for its aviation and tourism sectors. Kazim pointed to the development of Dubai World Central as a key component of the city’s future strategy, building on years of record-breaking passenger traffic through Dubai International Airport.
The emirate is also benefiting from the support of its large international resident community. According to Kazim, residents have played an important role in promoting Dubai to friends and family abroad, helping sustain tourism demand during periods of uncertainty.
He said residents became strong advocates for the destination, encouraging visitors from around the world to experience Dubai and contributing to the city’s resilience during challenging periods for the travel industry.
