The tribute took place during the convention’s second night, when a memorial video was shown to the audience. Convention attendees responded with chants of “Charlie, Charlie” before observing the video presentation, creating a quieter moment amid the event’s broader political programming.
Speakers at the memorial segment reflected on Kirk’s influence within conservative activism. Kirk was widely known for establishing a nationwide network of Turning Point USA chapters on college campuses, hosting a political podcast, and engaging with young conservative audiences across the United States.
Representatives of Turning Point USA said the organization has continued to expand since Kirk’s death, citing growth in membership and online engagement. Supporters described his legacy as continuing through the group’s ongoing activities and outreach efforts.
Kirk died on September 10, 2025, after being shot while speaking at Utah Valley University. The incident drew national attention and led to an extensive criminal investigation.
A 23-year-old man, Tyler Robinson, has been charged in connection with the case. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Authorities have stated that he could face the death penalty if convicted of aggravated murder.
The memorial highlighted Kirk’s lasting influence on the organization he founded and on many of his supporters, while also serving as a reminder of the ongoing legal proceedings related to his death.
