Kyiv Hit by Drone Attack as Truce With Russia Expires

1 min read

Kyiv came under a fresh drone attack on Tuesday, just hours after a three‑day truce between Ukraine and Russia expired, according to Ukrainian authorities. Air‑raid sirens sounded across the capital for the first time since Friday, sending residents back into shelters as unmanned aerial vehicles approached the city.

“Enemy UAVs are currently over Kyiv. Please stay safe until the alert is cleared,” wrote Tymur Tkachenko, head of the city’s military administration, in a message on Telegram. Officials said defence systems were activated as drones moved toward the capital, though full details of the strike were still emerging.

The renewed assault marks a rapid return to hostilities following the brief pause in fighting, underscoring how fragile the ceasefire had been and how quickly tensions have escalated again.
