Czech police have detained seven people in connection with an arson attack on a military‑technology company, an incident authorities are investigating as a potential anti‑Israeli terrorist attack. The fire broke out on March 20 at a warehouse in the city of Pardubice used by LPP Holding, a firm that develops drones and other defence equipment. No injuries were reported, but the blaze quickly drew international attention after a group claimed it had targeted “a key production center for Israeli weapons.”
Police spokesman Jakub Vincalek confirmed that five suspects were arrested within the Czech Republic and placed in pre‑trial custody. Two additional suspects one in Bulgaria and one in Slovakia were detained under a European arrest warrant and are awaiting transfer to Czech authorities. Investigators are working with law‑enforcement partners across several European countries as the case widens.
Local media report that one of the suspects held in the Czech Republic is an American man, while the suspect detained in Slovakia is an American woman. The individual held in Bulgaria is also believed to be a foreign national.
The attack has been linked to a group calling itself The Earthquake Faction, which emailed several Czech news outlets claiming responsibility. Similar attacks have targeted Israeli‑linked defence companies across Europe in recent years, including incidents in the UK, Germany and Sweden.
LPP Holding has rejected claims that it manufactures Israeli drones, saying a previously discussed cooperation project with Israel’s Elbit Systems “never materialized.” The company is also known for producing drones for Ukraine as it continues to defend itself against Russia’s invasion.
The investigation remains active, with authorities treating the case as a serious cross‑border security threat.
