Jamaat‑e‑Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has called on the people of Bangladesh to unite behind a ‘Yes’ vote in the upcoming referendum, saying it represents the direct will of the people and the foundation of a state guided by public authority.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, he said a ‘Yes’ vote would help secure a safe and dignified future for the next generations. He urged citizens of all political backgrounds to participate, stressing that a single vote could become a powerful tool for truth and justice.
Dr Rahman added that supporting the ‘Yes’ option means standing for change, endorsing the July Charter and advancing the vision of a justice‑based state. He repeated that the referendum is an opportunity for the nation to act collectively for the greater good.
He encouraged voters to approach the moment with responsibility, saying the outcome could shape the country’s long‑term direction.
