Massive Minneapolis March Condemns Fatal ICE Shooting as Nationwide Protests Grow

1 min read

Tens of thousands of people filled the streets of Minneapolis on Saturday, protesting the fatal shooting of a woman by a US immigration officer and joining more than one thousand rallies taking place across the country against the federal government’s deportation campaign.

The huge turnout, despite a biting cold wind, shows how deeply the death of thirty seven year old Renee Good has resonated since she was shot by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent on Wednesday. The incident has ignited demonstrations in major cities and smaller communities alike.

Minnesota’s Democratic leaders and the administration of President Donald Trump have offered sharply contrasting accounts of what happened, widening political tensions as public anger continues to rise.
