Additional Inspector General Khandaker Rafiqul Islam says authorities still have no confirmed information on the whereabouts of Faisal, the prime suspect in the killing of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
Speaking at an emergency press briefing at the Home Ministry on Sunday, he said investigators have not received any reliable leads on where Faisal might be. He added that law enforcement and intelligence agencies are actively working on the case, but there is no confirmation that Faisal has fled the country.
Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General and former MP Mia Golam Porwar sharply questioned how the accused managed to leave the country within just six hours of the murder. He said the incident has raised serious doubts among the public about the government’s capability and the role of intelligence agencies.
Porwar made the remarks while presiding over a prayer gathering at Al Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar, held in memory of Sharif Osman bin Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha and a participant in the July uprising.
