Yunus Departs for Rome to Attend World Food Forum

Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus has departed Dhaka for Rome, Italy, to participate in the annual World Food Forum organized by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). He boarded a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:30 AM on Sunday, October 12, confirmed by Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumdar.

According to the official itinerary, Professor Yunus will deliver a keynote speech as an invited guest at the forum’s main session. He is also scheduled to meet with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and leaders of various international organizations to discuss pressing global issues including food security, poverty eradication, and sustainable development.

The World Food Forum is a global platform hosted by FAO, bringing together policymakers, researchers, and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and shape the future of global food systems. This year’s event is being held from October 10 to 17 at FAO’s headquarters in Rome.

Professor Yunus is expected to return to Bangladesh on October 15, following the completion of his engagements.
