Dr. Muhammad Yunus Officially Inaugurates Bangladesh Army’s ‘Senashadore Election Board 2025’

On Sunday, July 20, a historic moment unfolded at the Bangladesh Army headquarters as the ‘Senashadore Election Board 2025’ officially commenced its activities. Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus personally inaugurated the board, marking a significant step in the military’s leadership and promotion process.

This is the first time that the promotion board will consider candidates holding the ranks of Colonel and Lieutenant Colonel for their next level of advancement. The event was attended by senior military officials, including the Army Chief, General Waker-Uz-Zaman, along with other senior officers and the Chief of General Staff.

In his inaugural speech, Dr. Yunus paid deep tribute to the martyrs, war wounded, and valiant freedom fighters of Bangladesh’s independence war. He highlighted the sacrifices made by soldiers and all martyrs, emphasizing that their dedication to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and independence will always be remembered. He also paid respects to the soldiers injured and martyred while serving in Chittagong Hill Tracts, reaffirming that their sacrifices will never be forgotten.

Dr. Yunus underscored that only those who excel in professionalism, leadership qualities, honesty, discipline, and loyalty are eligible for higher promotions. He stressed that officers who have demonstrated successful leadership beyond political ideologies will be considered for the new promotion board.

He further highlighted the army’s vital role in protecting the country’s independence and sovereignty, as well as maintaining internal peace, stability, and disaster management. Currently, soldiers are actively supporting civil administration efforts, and Dr. Yunus expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Army Chief and all soldiers for their dedication and sacrifices.

The event was graced by the presence of senior military officials, including the Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, special assistants, and other high-ranking officers. At the conclusion of the program, Dr. Yunus joined the officers for a photo session and signed the visitor’s book, marking a new milestone in the leadership development of Bangladesh Army through the inauguration of the ‘Senashadore Election Board 2025’.
