A Dhaka court has ordered the remand of former Member of Parliament Sabina Akter Tuhin for two days and Shah Alam Murad, the general secretary of Dhaka South City Awami League, for one day in separate cases.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Partha Bharda issued the orders after police requested five-day remand for Murad and seven-day remand for Tuhin.
Murad was arrested earlier on April 17 in Uttara, while Tuhin was taken into custody on June 22 in the Nababganj area of Dhaka. Murad is currently in remand in connection with the Motaleb murder case filed under the Dhanmondi police station during the anti-discrimination student movement. Tuhin is in remand in a case filed under the Anti-terrorism Act with the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police station.
