Pilot killed in light plane crash in Victoria

A man has been killed in a light plane crash in central Victoria.

The pilot was flying solo over a private property in Redesdale, about 24km east of Castlemaine, when the aircraft crashed about 12.30pm on Friday, police said.

The pilot, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene. A nearby resident, Ashley Scott, told ABC News he heard a “loud bang” on Friday afternoon.

No one else was harmed in the crash. Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
