Student protesters have brought forward the date for holding their “March to Dhaka” program from Tuesday to Monday, according to a Facebook post made by protest coordinator Asif Mahmud.

On Sunday, Asif, a leader of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, in his Facebook post said that after monitoring the evolving situation, the student leaders have decided to urge anti-government protesters from across the country to reach Dhaka today.

“Those who can manage it must leave for Dhaka today early morning,” he said.

The Facebook post further read: “The time for giving the ultimate reply [to the government] has arrived. In particular, everyone from the districts surrounding Dhaka must come. The time has come for this mass upsurge to leave its ultimate mark.”

“Come to Dhaka to be part of history. We the students and other commoners would ensure the birth of a new Bangladesh,” Asif wrote in his concluding remarks.

Nahid Islam, a coordinator of the platform, announced their next course of program on Sunday through a media release. The platform also urged the formation of ‘Sangram Committees’ in all areas, villages, upazilas, and districts led by students.
