Dhaka College Alumni Association Australia held BBQ program

Organized by the Alumni Association of Dhaka College Australia, a barbecue event was organized with former students of Dhaka College on Saturday, November 11, at a local Park in Sydney.

Dhaka College Alumni families from different parts of Sydney gathered on the occasion to celebrate.

Alumni family members started gathering with great enthusiasm at 11 am in this park full of beautiful weather and natural beauty. A group of volunteers on behalf of the alumni barbecued a variety of delicious food. At the end of the barbeque, a celebration party was organized with about a hundred alumni family members. Penalty goal competitions, pillow passing, and running competitions were organized with alumni and family members.

The best students of the traditional best colleges of Bangladesh came together in Sydney with established alumni of all ages and diverse professions living in Sydney from 1965 to 2006. Mustafa Abdullah, the oldest alumni said, “I passed HSC in 1965 but actually here I feel like I am a youngster.”

 

Alumni Professor (Retd) Ali gave the entire money to the Alumni Association of Dhaka College from the sale of books written by Alumni families. Alumni thanked the organizers for hosting the event and said, “It’s great to be here, I want to see this organization grow in the future.”

With the evolution of time, the alumni family of three generations indulged in various stories and chats of college life. Many went back to the best days of their youth. The last part of the program was the raffle draw and prize distribution among the game winners. This episode was directed by Pavel Dewan and Abdullah Al Mamun. At the last stage, a group photo was taken with the alumni families.

The journey of Dhaka College Alumni Association Australia started on 16 July 2023 with a function in Sydney. In continuation of this, this event is on November 11. The general secretary of the organization, Shamim, said, “We will not limit this organization to New South Wales, but we will continue to try to expand it to every state in Australia in the future.”
