Three Injured in Coffs Harbour Crash as Police Probe Cause Amid Heavy Rain

1 min read

A 20‑year‑old woman remains in a serious but stable condition after suffering significant leg and pelvic injuries in a crash near Coffs Harbour, while a 16‑year‑old boy and a 21‑year‑old man are also being treated in hospital and are reported to be stable.

Police say the 21‑year‑old driver will undergo mandatory testing as part of the investigation. Superintendent Schultz said it was too early to determine what caused the collision, but confirmed that weather conditions at the time were “treacherous,” with heavy rain sweeping through the area.

She noted that investigators will examine whether speed or road conditions played a role. “It’s an awful scene for police to go to and all first responders,” she said, adding that many young officers had attended the incident and would be offered support.

Emergency crews remain at the scene as inquiries continue.
