At least 13 people were injured after Russian air strikes hit the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv and Odesa during the early hours of Thursday, according to local officials.
Authorities in the capital, Kyiv, reported that 10 people were wounded in the attacks. Mayor Vitali Klitschko said damage was reported to residential buildings, apartments, warehouse facilities, and areas near a petrol station. Emergency services were deployed to assess the destruction and assist affected residents.
Witnesses reported hearing multiple explosions across Kyiv as air defence systems responded to the incoming threats. Debris from intercepted aerial targets reportedly fell in several parts of the city, causing additional damage.
In the Black Sea port city of Odesa, officials said three people were injured, including a child, after a strike hit a 19-storey apartment building. Emergency crews responded to the scene as residents were evacuated and damage assessments began.
The latest attacks come as Ukraine continues to face sustained Russian aerial assaults targeting cities, infrastructure, and residential areas. Officials have repeatedly warned that such strikes pose ongoing risks to civilian populations and critical facilities.
Local authorities in both Kyiv and Odesa said emergency responders remained on site to support affected residents and investigate the full extent of the damage.
The incident is the latest in a series of attacks reported across Ukraine, where air raid alerts and drone and missile strikes have become a regular feature of daily life as the conflict continues.
