Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2030, extending his stay at the Emirates as he looks to build on the team’s recent success.
The Premier League champions confirmed the agreement on Wednesday, securing the future of the 44-year-old Spaniard, whose previous contract had been due to expire at the end of the current season.
Expressing his delight at extending his commitment, Arteta said he was proud to continue leading a club he described as unique.
He added that while Arsenal have already shared memorable achievements, he believes the club’s best days could still be ahead.
“We have already built a special bond and created memories that will last a lifetime, and what is so exciting is that this is only the beginning of what we can achieve together.”
Arteta took charge of Arsenal in December 2019 and has overseen a remarkable transformation of the club’s fortunes. Under his leadership, the Gunners returned to the summit of English football by winning their first Premier League title in 22 years last season.
He also guided Arsenal to their first UEFA Champions League final in two decades, although the club narrowly missed out on European glory after losing to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.
The contract extension comes as Arsenal continue another strong campaign. The North London club currently sits second in the Premier League, three points behind leaders Manchester City, despite suffering a surprise 3-0 defeat to Brighton before the international break.
Arteta’s new deal is seen as a major statement of intent from Arsenal, reflecting the club’s confidence in his long-term vision and commitment to maintaining their status among Europe’s elite teams.
Since arriving as manager, Arteta has earned widespread praise for rebuilding the squad, developing young talent, and establishing Arsenal as consistent title contenders both domestically and in European competition.
The extension provides stability for the club as it aims to challenge for further Premier League and Champions League honours in the coming seasons.
