In a fresh administrative reshuffle, 10 additional superintendents of police (SPs) have been transferred to various units, including the Special Branch (SB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and district police formations across Bangladesh.
The transfers were announced through an official order issued by Police Headquarters on Tuesday. The order was signed by Raihan Uddin Khan, Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police.
According to the directive, Md Tofayel Hossain Sarker, currently serving as an additional SP in SB Dhaka, has been transferred to Brahmanbaria as additional SP, while Md Robiul Islam of the Special Branch has been posted to Gopalganj.
Md Asaduzzaman, who was serving in Gazipur’s Kaliganj Circle, has been transferred to Kishoreganj’s Katiadi Circle. In a corresponding move, Md Tofazzal Hossain, additional SP of Katiadi Circle, has been reassigned to the Industrial Police.
The reshuffle also includes Mahin Faraji of the Special Branch, who has been transferred to Gournadi Circle in Barishal, while Tanzina Chowdhury from Police Headquarters has been posted to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Meanwhile, SM Arif Rayhan of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been transferred to Patiya Circle in Chattogram, and Sheikh Muttazul Islam, previously serving as additional SP of Gaibandha’s B Circle, has been posted to Kaliganj Circle in Gazipur.
In another key appointment, Abu Saleh Md Ansar Uddin, additional SP of Gournadi Circle, has been transferred to the Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) as an additional deputy commissioner.
Police Headquarters has instructed all transferred officers to hand over responsibilities at their current workplaces by September 19. The order further states that any officer who fails to comply within the specified deadline will be considered automatically released from their current post, effective September 20.
The latest reshuffle is part of ongoing efforts to reorganize personnel across key law enforcement units and strengthen operational effectiveness within Bangladesh Police.
