2 min read

Cox’s Bazar has burst back to life on the second day of Eid‑ul‑Fitr, transforming into a vibrant tapestry of colour, laughter and celebration as tourists streamed to the shoreline from early morning until sunset. After a quiet month of Ramadan, the world’s longest sea beach is once again buzzing with energy, its festive spirit carried on the breeze.

Even on Eid afternoon, despite light drizzles, visitors flocked to the beach. A long‑lasting rainbow arched across the sky, followed by a stunning sunset once the clouds cleared moments that added magic to the holiday atmosphere. The cool sea breeze only deepened the sense of joy for families and travellers soaking in the Eid festivities.

Tourism businesses, which had seen a lull throughout Ramadan, say the sudden surge of visitors has revived the coastline. With the perfect blend of natural beauty and holiday excitement, the number of tourists continues to rise by the hour. Industry stakeholders had earlier estimated that 1 to 1.1 million people might visit Cox’s Bazar during the Eid holidays, generating around Tk100 crore in business.

A walk along the beach revealed crowds enjoying every corner of the coastline from Kolatoli to Sugandha to Laboni as people from across the country embraced the festive escape.
