Benjamin Netanyahu says the United States and Israel will continue striking Iran “with force” as the conflict in the Middle East enters its fifth day, signalling no immediate path toward de‑escalation. His remarks came shortly after US President Donald Trump warned Tehran’s remaining leadership that it was now “too late” to negotiate.
Israeli strikes have also expanded into Lebanon, while the US embassy in Saudi Arabia has issued an alert over a potential drone and missile threat from Iran, heightening regional fears.
Tehran, meanwhile, has attempted to project calm. On Tuesday, Iranian authorities said they detected no radioactive contamination following US‑Israeli air strikes on the underground fuel‑enrichment facility at Natanz. The Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran said “no leak of radioactive material has been recorded,” crediting preventative measures and monitoring systems for keeping the site stable.
The Natanz facility a core component of Iran’s nuclear program was targeted over the weekend and had previously been hit during the 12‑day war between Iran and Israel last June. Its repeated targeting underscores the strategic stakes of the current confrontation, with both sides signalling they are prepared for a prolonged fight.
As the conflict widens and diplomatic channels remain frozen, regional tensions continue to rise, leaving millions across the Middle East bracing for what comes next.
