Police have arrested a man following an incident on busy Merrylands Road, where part of the roadway has now been closed as investigations continue.
Officers took the man into custody nearby and transported him to Granville Police Station for questioning. A crime scene has been established, and detectives have begun a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the event.
Emergency response captured on scene
Footage from the area showed multiple emergency service vehicles and personnel responding. Paramedics were seen treating two people on stretchers, though the extent of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.
Police officers were also filmed searching a nearby property and combing through the surrounding area while speaking with local residents.
