Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has congratulated BNP chairperson Tarique Rahman on what he described as a decisive victory in Bangladesh’s 13th national parliamentary election. Zardari conveyed his message on Friday through a post on X, formerly Twitter.
In his statement, the Pakistani president praised both Rahman and the people of Bangladesh for what he called a successful and peaceful election. He said Pakistan “reaffirms its strong support for democratic partnership and future shared progress.”
The message comes as international reactions continue to pour in following Bangladesh’s landmark vote, held for the first time since the political upheaval of 2024.
