Legendary American boxer Terence Crawford has announced his retirement at the age of 38, closing the curtain on one of the most remarkable careers in modern boxing. Crawford leaves the sport with a flawless 42-0 record and world titles across five different weight divisions.
His final bout was a masterpiece. In September, Crawford defeated Mexican superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez by unanimous decision to claim the undisputed super middleweight championship. The victory marked his third undisputed crown, following triumphs at junior welterweight in 2017 and welterweight in 2021.
Crawford’s performance against Alvarez showcased his trademark speed, intelligence, and tactical brilliance, as he outboxed the larger opponent with precision. While his Instagram retirement message hinted that the door may not be completely closed, for now the Omaha, Nebraska native has stepped away from the ring.
