A man in his 60s has been left in a critical condition after a light-plane crash in Raglan, central Queensland. The incident occurred around 10am on Sunday when the aircraft attempted to land on a private airstrip along Langmorn Road and ignited on impact.
According to the Queensland Ambulance Service, the man sustained severe burns to his limbs, face, and chest. Despite his injuries, he managed to walk nearly two kilometres to a nearby homestead before emergency crews reached him. He is now being treated for potentially life-threatening injuries.
A rescue helicopter has arrived at the crash site to assist with medical evacuation. Police confirmed the aircraft was VH-registered and said investigations are underway. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has been notified and will examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The incident has shocked the local community, with authorities praising the man’s extraordinary resilience in surviving the ordeal.
