Eagles, Chiefs Set for Super Bowl Rematch Showdown

1 min read

Kansas City, USA: The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs are set to face off at Arrowhead Stadium in a highly anticipated rematch of last season’s Super Bowl, which the Eagles won convincingly.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes admitted he has rewatched the painful 40‑22 defeat “a couple of times” in preparation, determined to avoid a repeat. Kansas City enters the game under pressure after a surprise opening‑week loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, with injuries and suspensions depleting their receiving corps.

The Eagles, meanwhile, are riding a seven‑game winning streak and opened their season with a victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Quarterback Jalen Hurts downplayed the revenge narrative, calling it “just another opportunity” to improve.

Philadelphia’s offence will be boosted by the arrival of running back Tank Bigsby, acquired from Jacksonville to cover for injured backup Will Shipley. Kansas City will look to veteran tight end Travis Kelce and wideout Marquise Brown to spark their attack.

The Chiefs have not started a season 0‑2 since 2014, while Mahomes has not experienced such a start since high school adding extra stakes to an already charged encounter.
