The dire situation in the Gaza Strip has become a living nightmare, with ongoing Israeli suppression and a blockade plunging the region into severe food shortages. As a result, ten more Palestinians have died from hunger, while at least one hundred others lost their lives in Israeli attacks over a single day, according to a report released on Thursday.
Since the start of the Israeli offensive in October 2023, the death toll in Gaza has reached 111, most of which have occurred in recent weeks. In the past 24 hours alone, Israeli strikes have claimed the lives of at least 100 Palestinians. The Gaza health ministry confirmed that 34 of these fatalities occurred while civilians were seeking humanitarian aid.
The World Health Organization reports that since the beginning of this year, 21 children under the age of five have died in Gaza. The organization also notes that from March to May, nearly 80 days passed without any food supplies reaching the region. Although some aid has now been delivered, the quantities are far below what is needed to meet the population’s demands.
